Nexylon FR – The Flame Retardant Polyamide Fiber

EMS-GRILTECH offers with Nexylon FR a unique solution for flame-retardant fabrics and garments.

Workwear with a high content of Polyamide fibers have a significant advantage in abrasion resistance and tenacity. With our flame retardant Nexylon FR fiber the fabric can be designed more open and lighter in weight, which ensures high wear comfort. Because durability of the garment is enhanced total clothing costs can be reduced. Nexylon FR has the same tenacity and abrasion resistance like fine count PA fiber used in workwear today. The flame protection is non-halogen based, which means that no chlorine or bromine containing compounds are used.

Nexylon FR is used in blended fabrics for wear resistant protective garments (firefighters, army, police and industry). These multifunctional garments fulfil the specifications and regulations with respect to flame protection, tenacity, washability and antistatic requirements.
Nexylon FR as a functional component increases the lifetime of the protective garment and wear comfort is improved. It is also accepted by OEKO-TEX^® as a flame retardant product to be used in skin-friendly clothing and textiles.

Other applications of Nexylon FR are carpets and upholstery fabrics for transportation. Also in these fields the products must strictly adhere to regulations for flame protection. Longer lifetime is decisive for a customer's choice.
